Meteorological agencies and charity partners have issued an alert calling for urgent humanitarian efforts in response to the ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa.

US space agency NASA has contracted aerospace and defense technology developer Northrop Grumman to refurbish the NOAA’s Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) Engineering Development Unit (EDU) to support a future mission.

The WMO has released the latest Ocean Observing System Report Card – an annual report providing insight into the state, capacity and value of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS).
